High Steer Crossover Steering is critical for rock crawling. Toyota's stock steering rods are certainly strong, but they just can't keep pace with today's super flexible suspension systems. Compounded with aggressive driving and modern tire sizes, stock steering systems can leave you stranded in the most remote places.
Additionally, crossover steering corrects for the loss of steering control that occurs when the factory push/pull system is articulated.
Our high steer kit features forged SAE 8620 tool steel steering arms. Choose between 4 stud steering arms for factory knuckles or 6 stud arms for use with Trail-Gear FJ40 6 Shooter Knuckle Swap Kits.
Our FJ40 High Steer Kits feature super beefy FJ80 Tie Rod Ends and a taper reamer to ream out your Pitman arm to fit them. The included tie rod is made of heavy duty .250 wall tube. Precision fit for easy assembly.
To accommodate various configurations we provide heavy-duty .250-inch wall tubing and bungs to make your own custom length drag link. Welding is required. We recommend that all welding be carried out by a certified welder.
A steering box compatible with FJ40/45 high steer must be used.
Note: Will Not Fit Early Factory FJ40 Knuckles! These parts are Only for use with 1980-Up FJ40-FJ60-62 or mini truck style knuckles.
