Description
Made from tool-grade 8620 steel and heat-treated for maximum strength and wear resistance, these fully built 29-Spline Super Finish 3rd members include all new parts and are ready to drop into your axle. These third members feature top-quality Super Finish 29-Spline ring and pinion gears, and your choice of lockers.
The ring and pinion gears are treated with the REM Isotropic Super Finishing (ISF) process, which removes the microscopic peaks in the material and creates a surface on the ring and pinion gears with a roughness of less than 10 in Ra!
This means that there is less friction between the gears, reducing wear by 95 percent and allowing the gears and bearings to run cooler and last longer. The gear teeth are cut using Gleason CNC hobbing machines and cutters. V6 units feature larger OEM style V6 gear sets with a longer pinion gear.
Each unit is set up with solid pinion spacers for long gear life. A Trail-Safe 29-spline pinion seal is provided at no extra charge. High-pinion sets also include a high-pinion oil slinger. Quadruple-drilled flange covers will fit most Pickup/4Runner/Tacoma driveshaft patterns.
A dust shield is pre-installed onto the flange. There is no break-in period required. This product is for Toyota 8 inch solid axles only and will not fit 7.5 inch IFS front axles.
Notes:
- Will not fit 7.5 inch IFS front axles
- The 4-cylinder and V6 differentials are meant to be run in the stock position (low pinion). Using these differentials in the high pinion position (flipping) will cause the pinion bearings to rapidly fail due to oil starvation and void the warranty.
